The Water Engineering and Management (WEM) program welcomed Grade 3 students from the AIT International School (AITIS) on November 6, 2020 (Friday) to visit its hydraulic laboratory and research facilities. The students learned more about the WEM Program and had a brief overview of “hydropower” which was followed by a demonstration from the hydropower projects of Laos and Myanmar that are currently being implemented in WEM’s laboratory. After the completion of the hydraulic laboratory visit, the group proceeded to the WEM Hydrometeorological Station where they learned about the various instruments used for measuring weather data. WEM believes that providing ‘water education’ in early childhood can address sustainability issues of water use and water conservation. WEM wishes the students good luck and success in their future endeavors.
