Dr. Mohana Sundaram Shanmugam obtained his PhD from IIT, Madras, India and Post-doc from University of Nebraska at Lincoln, USA. His research interests include irrigation water management, groundwater recharge estimation, soil moisture monitoring and modelling in unsaturated zone, chemical leaching modelling into the groundwater systems, remote sensing and GIS applications for water resources and agriculture and time series and geostatistical modelling of environmental observations.He has his research publications in peer reviewed national and international journals with ElsevIER and Taylor and Francis publications. He has also presented his research work at various national and international conferences. His present responsibilities at AIT include teaching and supervising postgraduate students. He has received best student paper awards from Indian Society of Agricultural Engineers (ISAE) conference and HYDRO conference held at Ranchi and Mumbai during 2009 and 2012 respectively.
Dr. Mohana Sundaram Shanmugam will be teaching course ‘Irrigation and Drainage Systems Management’ in January 2019 semester.
