Water Engineering and Management (WEM) in collaboration with Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) and Vietnam Institute of Meteorology, Hydrology and Climate Change (IMHEN) successfully organized a session ‘Adapting Water Resources and Water Use Sectors to Climate Change: Examples from Asian River Basins’ in Vietnam International Water Week-VACI2019 on March 22, 2019 in Hanoi, Vietnam. Vietnam International Water Week (VACI2019) was organized by Vietnam Water Cooperation Initiative (VACI) under the patronage of Vietnamese Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) to share and co-create innovative water solutions with particular emphasis on Vietnam and tropical water issues. The session aimed to provide the broad overview of climate change impact on water and water use sectors; explore the potential adaptation measures to offset the negative impact of climate change on water and water use sectors and discuss the challenges and opportunities in adapting water sector to climate change. The students and researchers from Water Engineering and Management (WEM) also shared their experiences and research outputs at the conference.
