Prof. Sangam Shrestha served as the chair of two different sessions at “The 1st Thailand Groundwater Symposium: Key to Water Security and Sustainability” hosted by the Department of Groundwater Resources (DGR), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MoNRE) and Groundwater Development Fund (Bangkok & Kanchanaburi, 22 – 26 August 2022). The two sessions chaired by Prof. Shrestha are ‘Session 1: Groundwater Innovations and New Frontiers’ and ‘Session 2: Sustainable Groundwater Management and Climate Change.’
‘The 1st Thailand Groundwater Symposium aims to provide participants with opportunities to share their experiences, research findings, innovation and technology regarding groundwater-related issues and to serve as an international platform for leading researchers, policymakers, practitioners and private executives to identify common and emerging issues, hotspots and opportunities in groundwater management, as well as to discuss how to further build the coalition.
