Three students from WEM, Nai Chhaihort (Cambodia), Thin Lwin (Myanmar) and Kanoknun Muangsong (Thailand), have participated in the 6th Green Mekong Forum co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan in Pullman Bangkok King Power Hotel in Bangkok on July 8, 2019. The forum is part of the activities “A Decade toward the Green Mekong” under the Mekong – Japan Cooperation Framework, aimed at focusing on the exchange of views and best practices to promote a balanced approach towards economic development, environmental protection and sustainable growth, as well as addressing common challenges faced by Japan and the Mekong riparian countries including Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Viet Nam.

The students presented their ideas on “Youth Perspectives towards Sustainable Development Goals Transformation in Mekong Regions”. They shared the innovative solutions/ideas as the young generation to support SDG Goals Number 6 included: Training and education, Youth Centre to promote the voluntary program, Data and Information sharing, Partnership Cooperation.
