Water Engineering and Management (WEM) student Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong has been awarded the prestigious inaugural ππžπ±π†πžπ§ 𝐌𝐞𝐀𝐨𝐧𝐠 π’πœπ’πžπ§π­π’π¬π­π¬ (ππžπ±π†πžπ§) π…πžπ₯π₯𝐨𝐰𝐬𝐑𝐒𝐩 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟏. Ms. Huong will conduct her research on β€˜Assessment of Combined Impacts of Future Abstraction, Land-Use and Climate Change Scenarios on Groundwater Resources in Transboundary Cambodia – Mekong River Delta Aquifer’. Furthermore, Prof. Sangam Shrestha will be serving as a NexGen host at AIT and will be working with leading scientists from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and Arizona State University (ASU).

The NexGen Mekong Scientists (NexGen) aims to empower early career professionals in the Mekong Region to increase science-policy engagement, build working relationships among future leaders, and foster responsible and sustainable stewardship of the Mekong River Basin and its natural resources.
