Dr. Mohana S. Shanmugam Participated as a Keynote Speaker at ILASW2026

Bogor, Indonesia, 15 September 2026 – Dr. S. Mohana Sundaram, a faculty member of the Water Engineering and Management (WEM) Program, participated as a keynote speaker and delivered a lecture on “Water Management and Carbon Dynamics in Highland Ecosystems” at the International Landscape Architecture Student Workshop (ILASW) 2026, held at the IPB University in Bogor, Indonesia.
This is a biennial international workshop that brings together landscape architecture students and students from related disciplines to exchange knowledge, strengthen international collaboration, and discuss contemporary landscape issues. This year’s session, held under the theme “Green Carbon Network: Empowering Communities to Harmonize Carbon Flows for Landscape Resilience,” provided an opportunity for interdisciplinary knowledge exchange on water management, sustainability, and landscape resilience.

Dr. Shanmugam’s participation at the event highlights the interdisciplinary work conducted by WEM faculty members, researchers, and students, and our commitment to international academic collaboration and knowledge exchange in support of sustainable and resilient landscapes.

International Landscape Architecture Student Workshop (ILASW) 2026

The International Landscape Architecture Student Workshop (ILASW) features a series of seminars led by expert speakers in the fields of carbon management and sustainability under the theme “Green Carbon Network: Empowering Communities to Harmonize Carbon Flows for Landscape Resilience.” Beyond the seminar sessions, participants will engage in group discussions and collaborative planning activities to develop design solutions for a selected case-study site.
